Developing and promoting tourism in Bangkok by emphasizing on
people participation and recognizing conservation of environment
and local wisdom.

Roles and Responsibilities
Planning Bangkok tourism development under the Government policy,
the National Economic and Social Development Plan and Bangkok
Development Plan.
Coordinating with related parties including local people, public
and private sectors in order to promote and develop tourist attraction,
restore and maintain sites and also environment for tourism along
with promoting eco-tourism based on local wisdom.
Promoting tourism in various medias and developing Bangkok tourism
services to meet international standard and facilitate tourists
as a tourism information center.

Tourism Division
General Administration Sub-Division
is in charge of secretarial and administrative work.
Planning Sub-Division
formulates plans and projects in accordance with the laid-down
policies.
Tourism Services Sub-Division
serves as the information center on tourism in Bangkok, utilizing
information technology in providing the services. At the same
time, the section strives to develop tourist services in Bangkok
up to an international standard. It also handles international
relations in tourism development.
Tourism Development and Public Relation Sub-Division
surveys and develops existing and new tourist attractions and
promotes them on a wide scale, to stimulate tourism in the Bangkok
Metropolis.
Strategies for Tourism Development
1.Strategy for Eco-Tourism Sites Development and Promotion
on a Sustainable Basis
Objective:
Increasing the number of attractions developed and managed as
eco-tourism sites by defining 12 sites in Sustainable Tourism
Community Project, within the year 2008.
2.Strategies for Tourism Development Up to international
Standards
Objective:
1.Enhancing the capability in tourism standards for officials
and community representatives to sufficiently respond to the demand.
2.Enhancing the efficiency in tourism services for entrepreneurs
to sufficiently respond to the demand.
3.Increasing the number of tourists visiting Bangkok.
4.Increasing the length of stay of tourists.
5.Increasing average spending per head per day.
6.Increasing income and money in circulation from tourism.
7.Developing IT system and people's accessibility to tourism information.
